Get Mew
Get Mew *You can come back here after you get an Abra on Route 5.*

1. Have Nugget Bridge beaten, and fight 2 or 3 of the trainers to the left of Nugget Bridge. Have a pokemon in your party that can paralyze or poison. Do not fight the kid with the Slowpoke! We need him later. He stands above 2 bushes. Stock up on Pokeballs and Potions.

2. Catch an Abra in the patch of grass to the left of Nugget bridge. Do not trigger the trainer in the tall grass! You'll do that later.

3. Make sure Abra is in your party. If not, go get it. Do not trigger that trainer!

4. Now go back across Nugget bridge. Get into position without triggering that trainer. You want to be in the same column as him but just far enough so the next step down triggers him.

5. Save your game here!

6. Now walk down into that same trainer's sight I mentioned before. Press Start as soon as he notices you. The quicker the better. You should NOT get into a battle! If you get into a battle, reload your save and try again. Once done successfully, keep your game paused!

7. Use Teleport. You should go back to the Cerulean Pokecenter.

8. Go back across Nugget Bridge and go to the right. Go to the area with the Slowpoke trainer. Don't talk to him! It's essential to have 1 free square between you and him. Let him walk up to you! (Your game can lock if not done correctly!) Win the trainer battle. (Slowpoke is Water Psychic and level 17. It's weak to Electric.)

9. Once you win, DON'T MOVE! Use teleport instead. Go across Nugget Bridge one more time. Do not pause the game, talk to anyone, or go into any buildings.

10. A battle should suddenly start out of nowhere. There's Mew at level 7. Good luck! It's tough! Start with a poison move, then keep doing that poison move until its health gets low. Start chucking balls and hope!

11. Once caught, SAVE THE GAME!

Pikachu's Happiness

In this game, you have to keep your Pikachu happy up until you get Bulbasaur in Cerulean City. Yes, there's a good chance you'll be over leveling it.
Bulbasaur - The only way to get Bulbasaur from the lady in Cerulean city is to have a happy Pikachu. (Tip: Get Bulbasaur after you defeat Misty.) If the lady refuses to give Bulbasaur over, get into some battles with Pikachu, then give it some Potions. It's happiness will go up. After this, you no longer need to worry about Pikachu's happiness. Alternatively, you can keep Pikachu at the top of your party, never putting him away in a box. Just switch it out at the beginning of a battle. (Good idea for Brock's Gym.) However, it should be fine with fighting Misty.

Your Rival's Eevee

Your rival will start with Eevee, which can evolve into one of 3 different pokemon as the game progresses. There are 2 important rival battles that can change Eevee's evolution. One being the very first one in Oak's Lab and the second being an optional one on Route 22.
- If you win both battles, the Eevee will evolve into Jolteon
- If you win at the lab, but lose or skip Route 22, Eevee evolves into Flareon.
- If you lose at the lab, Eevee evolves into Vaporeon.
Evolving it into Vaporeon is your best bet, as water is weak to electricity!
